Butterfly Volunteer Fundraising Walk

End of life Care - Butterfly Volunteer Service
Fundraising for Friends of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital,

Approximately two years ago Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in partnership with the Anne Robson Trust created a volunteer service focussed on supporting people nearing the end of their life. These volunteers, referred to as “Butterfly Volunteers” provide bedside companionship to patients on the ward in their final days and hours, and emotional support to patient’s visitors.

The work these volunteers do is vital in supporting people facing the end of their life and those around them. The service has grown over the last 12 months and we now have Butterfly Volunteer coverage at both our hospital sites. 7 days a week. The feedback received from patients, families, staff and volunteers is so heartwarming and evidences just how important the volunteers are in making those final moments count.

The team are doing a fundraising walk on 13th October, to hopefully raise enough funds to sustain the service for another year.
