Stoptober – would you like to be smoke-free?
Did you know?
If you successfully don’t smoke for 28 days, the likelihood of quitting is 5 times greater! Not only does your chance of living get better, stopping smoking is also known to significantly improve mental health, boost mood and relieve stress and anxiety.
Ways to quit
Although having the willpower is great, following a guideline is more effective. Try a combination of the following options to create a synergy for your initiative:
- Vaping
- Stop smoking aids
- Local stop smoking services
Download the NHS Quit Smoking app to get daily support, track your progress and feel rewarded for saving up your expenses! You could also try using UK Health Security Agency’s Quit Plan tool which is a free personalized quit plan, and Mind Plan tool that gives you an improvised plan to help your mental health for further support.
Tips to Quit
First and foremost, set a quit date and let people know you’re quitting. Then, get your reasons ready and form a plan. Make use of stop smoking aids and identify your triggers. To help fight your urges, try exercising. Lastly, join a support group because sharing the same goals as others keeps one motivated to achieve them!
