Grants to fund projects that benefit mental health or aim to prevent suicides

Rethink Mental Illness have been given over £230k to fund projects in North West London that aid mental health or aim to prevent suicides and approximately £27k of that is set aside to spend on projects in Hounslow. Rethink welcome collaborations and multi-borough applications as well as smaller neighbourhood-based initiatives.

The application form is very straightforward and there is no deadline date as applications are considered on a monthly basis at panel meetings.  However I would recommend that you apply as soon as you can. 

Rethink have a long and broad list of priority groups, so if you have a project in mind that would benefit one of the groups below, please consider making an application:

  • Middle aged men.
  • People experiencing domestic abuse or displaying abusive behaviours.
  • People with autism/ADHD and/or a Learning Disability.
  • People who self-harm.
  • People experiencing housing insecurity/homelessness.
  • People in higher risk occupations (e.g. plasterer, arts, sports).
  • People at risk of isolation/loneliness (including older people).
  • People who misuse alcohol or drugs.
  • Young people (aged 18-30)
  • People who experience poor mental health and wellbeing and/or mental health conditions.
  • People who are carers.
  • Women who are pregnant or have given birth within the last year.
  • People experiencing job insecurity (including the impact of seasonal work)
  • People who identify as LGBTQ+.
  • People experiencing bereavement (including bereavement by suicide)
  • People experiencing debt and financial concerns (including problematic gambling)
  • People experiencing digital exclusion due to some services available exclusively online.
  • People experiencing food insecurity (including the use of foodbanks).
  • Vulnerable Adults in receipt of care from the Local Authority.
  • People in contact with the criminal justice system.
