Exercise can be a challenge for those with a long-term health condition or limited mobility, especially during the winter months.

Almost three quarters of those living with a long-term health condition feel their physical activity is restricted during winter due to the weather, while 40 per cent feel restricted due to low energy levels in winter and 37 per cent due to body aches associated with lower temperatures.

While getting outdoors during winter might still be an option for some, we know that more than half of those with a long-term health condition prefer to do their exercise at home. The truth is that you can start small, and you do not have to get moving when you don’t feel up to it. Ultimately, being active is about finding what works for you.
