Find out about autism support in April with Community Provisions
April is Autism Awareness Month and this year it’s all about how we can do more to support, accept and include people with autism in our communities.
According to one of the country’s leading autism charities - Autistica, one in 67 people in the UK is autistic but many adults living with the condition have never been diagnosed.
Hounslow Council’s Community Provisions team provides a range of services to support people with autism and a range of learning disabilities.
These include:
- Prevention, Transition and Development - which helps people to manage change and prevent isolation
- Community Access Service - which provides community-based activities for residents with mild-to-moderate learning disabilities and autism.
- Travel Training Service - helping adults with a range of conditions with travel training
- Employment Opportunity Service - which helps people with disabilities to find jobs
The Community Provisions team will be at the next Cost of Living Roadshow at Hounslow House on Wednesday, 19 April between 10am and 1pm. In addition, the team will also be at the Hounslow Central Area Forum at Hounslow House on Thursday, 20 April.
Everyone is welcome to come along and find out more.
