Softly does it with new Early Help and Safeguarding referral process

Hounslow Council are currently in the process of soft launching a new and improved Children’s referral process for early help, family support and safeguarding services.

The new portal is currently rolling out across Hounslow’s Education and School Nursing services with wider access available later this month.

The new system negates the need for word documents via the Child & Family Assessment Notification (CFAN) and provides a more sophisticated, user-friendly experience for professionals, parents, and U-18’s, that improves the pace and quality of information flow and exchange and encourages early intervention.

Among the benefits for professionals will be improved case history mapping and closure, leading to swifter, more appropriate responses. The system will also boast safer information exchange, improved referral logging, ‘Push’ notifications and a dedicated record of submissions to keep users up to date with outcomes.

For parents, language will be simpler and more appropriate and there will be better background information available with clearer signposting to relevant partner agencies.

The case management system for Children’s Social Care has been further finessed after discussions with key stakeholders from the NHS to Social Care teams.

Hounslow Council has also received input from both the NSPCC and Childline during the design process.
