Carers Week is starting
A carer is defined as anyone who looks after a family member or friend who is frail, has a disability, long-term health condition, mental health difficulty, an addiction or someone who needs extra help as they grow older.
The Council and its partners have put together events that will help carers find the information and support they need.
There are also opportunities for carers to concentrate on their health and wellbeing while enjoying some of Hounslow’s great open spaces.
The theme for this year’s Hounslow Carers Week is - Supporting carers in our community.
Highlights of the week include activities aimed at Hounslow’s young carers and those looking to enter the world of work.
There will be Fresh Air and Friendship Walks and the chance to find out what help is available for those who care for someone living with dementia. All the events in Carers Week are free to the borough’s unpaid carers.
