Look after your lungs with a free health check

West London NHS estimates that one in eight people in Hounslow are smokers. The introduction of this new service means that around 22,000 people aged between 55 and 74 in the borough will be invited for a lung check.
The initiative has been introduced to improve the early diagnosis of lung conditions such as cancer.
A Lung Health Check takes place in two stages. There is an initial phone assessment with a trained nurse. If the assessment finds the person to be in a high-risk category, they are offered a scan of the lungs at a mobile scanning unit (pictured) based locally.
This session will also include information, guidance and signposting to local stop-smoking services.
