Keeping safe in our parks and open spaces

With temperatures rising, and a well-earned opportunity to enjoy some sun and some of Hounslow’s open spaces, we must still be mindful of how to keep safe while in our parks.
  • Do not light barbecues or fires in the parks and open spaces
  • Dispose of cigarette ends and other smoking material in a responsible manner
  • Take your litter home with you - glass items can magnify the sun’s rays and ignite dry grass
  • If you see anything of concern, report it to the parks team or call 999 in an emergency
  • If you spot a fire, quickly leave the area, tell others to do so too and call 999

We want everyone to enjoy Hounslow's parks and open spaces, but are urging people to stay out of the open water. In the hot weather there may a temptation to dive in but there are dangers just below the surface such as water plants, branches and strong currents which could leave any swimmer in difficulty.
