Can you support South Asian health study?

Imperial College London is looking for residents of South Asian heritage in Hounslow to take part in a major new health study.

Despite decades of research the reasons why South Asians have approximately two times higher cardiovascular, and three times higher diabetes risk, compared to Europeans are not known.

This knowledge gap remains the single largest obstacle in preventing the epidemic of these diseases among South Asians and is a major NHS health inequality. You can help us to bridge this knowledge gap and prevent these major diseases among South Asians.

The study is keen to enrol approximately 100,000 UK South Asians into the South Asia Biobank over the life of the project. It has already recruited 40,000 people in the first two and a half years and has at least a further year to run.

Everyone taking part will get a free clinical assessment and personalised health report in recognition of their contribution to research.
