Here Comes the Health Bus

Hounslow's health and wellbeing service, Healthy Hounslow, could be bringing some roadside assistance to a community near you thanks to its latest innovation - a roving health bus.

On the road: Hounslow Council's Cabinet member for Adult Social Care, Public Health and Transformation, Cllr Samia Chaudhary, with team members at the new Healthy Hounslow bus, from left: Kulvinder Sharma (Health & Wellbeing Coach), Nasrullah Sultani (PCN Service Manager), Nikunj Solanki (HCA and Deputy Service Manager), Zohra Saiam (Clinical Pharmacist)

The four-wheeled fitness and lifestyle machine is a converted ambulance that will travel around the borough to deliver great guidance on keeping you in the best of health.

The project is driven by Feltham and Bedford Primary Care Network - one of the Healthy Hounslow partner organisations.

Healthcare professionals will use this wellbeing wagon to travel to events and communities across Hounslow.

The team will offer a range of services including blood pressure checks, and NHS health checks and will be able to refer residents to health coaching and lifestyle sessions.

The ultimate aim of the Healthy Hounslow bus will be to encourage residents to move more, eat well, stop smoking, drink, get better sleep and stress less.
