Measles - make sure your family is protected

Measles can make your child seriously ill.
Vaccination is the best protection against becoming seriously unwell.

The infection rate in London has been increasing due to low vaccination rates over several years.

Parents should check their children are fully vaccinated with two MMR doses, which gives 99 per cent life-long protection.

You can check your child's red book or contact your GP practice.

Younger and older adults can also check that they are up to date; if you need to make an appointment as soon as possible.

The NHS school immunisation service will contact the parents of those children.

Parents can make an appointment with their GP practice or visit a community clinic for those home-schooled children who are not yet old enough for school or have another reason not to get up to date in school.
