About this event

Have you had breast cancer surgery in North West or South West London and received or been offered a temporary soft artificial breast form or prosthesis?

If so, we would like to hear from you.

In practice, soft breast prostheses are currently only offered or available in a few colour options.

RM Partners - NW & SW London Cancer Alliance NHS have recently worked alongside local hospitals to launch a pilot project offering soft breast prosthesis in a range of skin tones.

This project aims to improve the care for women who would like a temporary soft breast prosthesis and make this more personalised to them.

We are keen to improve the care for women who would like a temporary breast prosthesis and make this more personalised to them.

To better understand what changes are needed, we are looking for participants to join an online discussion with a local healthcare professional.

This is an opportunity to share your views about your temporary soft breast prosthesis following breast cancer surgery.

We are encouraging participation from:

  • Women from Black and Asian communities
  • Women who live in Brent, Croydon, Ealing, Hammersmith and Fulham, Harrow, Hillingdon, Hounslow, Kensington and Chelsea, Kingston, Merton, Richmond, Sutton, Wandsworth, or Westminster.

At the discussion we would like to hear about:

  • The experiences of women from Black and Asian communities who were offered a soft breast prosthesis following breast cancer surgery.
  • What information and approach would help women to make an informed choice when offered a soft breast prosthesis.

The discussion will take place on Microsoft Teams on Tuesday, 11 June, 7 - 8pm.

As a thank you for your contribution, you will receive a £30 voucher.
